Dehydration is a very serious problem that occurs mostly in the summer from physical labor, overwork, overworking out, or just from losing more water than you are taking in.

1. Drink Water With a Pinch of Salt

Dehydration in humans occurs when the body is not taking in enough water, therefore a great natural cure would be to add some salt to some drinking water and drink it.

This will help the body get the water it needs and replenish a bit of the salt it lost through excess sweating. Remember not to add too much salt as it will make you gag or even throw up which would only further the dehydration problem.

2. Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits such as watermelon are a great natural cure for dehydration, they pack a lot of water in them and are easy to eat and digest. Adding a bit of salt to whatever fruit you are eating is also helpful to cure dehydration.

The body needs to cool down, however, should not cool down too rapidly, even overconsumption of water can be bad, that’s why fruit and vegetables are a great way to help get the water in the system without overdoing it.

3. Water, Lemon, Salt, Sugar Mix

When a person is dehydrated they need to regain their proper level of nutrients and energy back.

Sweat makes the body lose a lot of salt. So the salt in this mixture helps replenish this. Water helps with the loss of it in the body, and the lemon provides valuable nutrients needed to treat dehydration.

Sugar does not cause dehydration like previously believed and will make this drink taste somewhat decent. Think of this as like a Gatorade mix.

4. Bananas

Similar to the fruits and vegetables on this list, bananas will provide valuable nutrients including potassium to help anyone suffering from dehydration.

Bananas do not carry as much water like other fruits and vegetables so it is imperative that you still get plenty of water.

5. Water

Although this is a very obvious natural cure for dehydration it is also the most useful and effective. The body needs to be rehydrated therefore water will help provide the cure.

Avoid drinking right away as it will cause stomach cramps. Drink about 16 ounces of water; this is enough to replenish the body, and then drink more as necessary.

6.Skin Treatments

Dehydration can be treated by your skin also. Your skin will be impacted and will sometimes show symptoms of its own.

• Rub salt on your wet skin. This will remove dry skin and make it smoother to touch. It also will make your circulation better. If your skin itches from dehydration as most do you can soak in a tub of saltwater to relieve the itch. Use 1 cup of salt or sea salt to the bathwater.

• Vinegar is a relief to your muscles. Mix 8 ounces of apple cider vinegar to warm bath water and soak for at least 15 minutes.

• Ice can be rubbed on your skin to provide some instant cool down relief it is short term relief though.

• Wet washcloths in cool water and place them on your forehead, neck, and wrists to aid in cool down.
